Computer animation is the process used for generating animated or moving images and can be rendered in 3D or 2D formats or a combination of both. To create the illusion of movement, an image is displayed on the computer monitor and repeatedly replaced by a new image that is similar to it, but advanced slightly in time. The graphics are created using computers and special types of software for the purpose of promotional, advertising or information materials.
